Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. 

the current 5 year survival rate following the diagnosis of all types of lung cancer is 21%.

Why the low survival rate? 

It can be connected to the late  diagnostic, and to the lack of efficient screening programmes. 

Besides smoking, there is poor knowledge of other risk factors as environmental, spatial, occupational or genetical.
